December 4th, 2017 - Speaker Frank Erb

If there was ever a time where politics has been a source of debate it is today. This condition is likely not unique to our time and the historian could provide proof. Can anyone really get this governing thing right? Well the answer is yes.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. Isaiah 9:6-7
Some of you reading these verses started singing the Hallelujah chorus or another piece of Handel’s Messiah. Others grappled with the titles given to the promised Messiah. A few wondered what it would be like to be in Jesus’ kingdom, and under his rule.

The Government of Jesus…  We will continue with our series Why the Manger Matters.
Our guest this Sunday is Frank Erb, who serves as a Missionary/Pastor to the California State Capitol in Sacramento. Since 2008 Frank has served in partnership with a national ministry called Capitol Commission (CapitolCom.org), which unites pastors reaching out to government leaders across the United States. Frank provides non-partisan pastoral outreach, personal discipleship, and multiple weekly expository Bible Studies inside the Capitol for State Senators, Assembly Members, Statewide Leaders, Department Heads, Staff, Lobbyists, and others. Beyond the Capitol, Frank enjoys speaking and teaching in churches and to other groups and coaching leaders of all kinds. Frank and his wife, Valerie, have two college-age children, a playful labradoodle named Levi and live in Roseville."
